very clearly distinguishes between taxable purchases of general supplies & tools and tax exempt purchases
of materials for resale. Please make sure your tax exempt, materials purchases go directly into the "value added"
products that you intend to offer for sale. Example: For painters, canvases, gesso, paints, mediums & varnishes
are legitimate tax exempt purchases. Whereas, items like aprons, brushes and palette knives are generally
considered taxable supplies. Always consult your tax professional or the California State Board of Equalization.
